NICK'S STORY

Hi i'm Nick, director of NJF Estimating. I'm a carpenter and builder by trade. We focus on providing cost estimates and BOQ's for builder's, architect's, building designers as well as providing preliminary estimates for home owners looking for a preliminary budget for their renovation.

I started my carpentry apprenticeship at the early age of 16 as a school based apprentice working for my uncle. We did a variety of work from renovations/ extensions, new homes and government fit-outs. My love of carpentry came from my dads side of the family all being carpenters, my pop, dad and my uncles. I looked up to my Dad, who specialised in new homes and pole homes and won a number of awards including Master Builder of the year.

After finishing my apprenticeship I worked for a number of builder's who specialised in custom new homes, house raises, renovations and extensions. I gained experience through many different roles such as a lead carpenter, site foreman and site supervisor before moving into the office to do quoting and estimating. From there grew, a love of estimating, building the project in my head and on the computer before it even gets to site. In 2019 I took the leap and stated NJF Estimating, providing estimates for a number of builder's around Brisbane and also providing material take-offs for a number of timber suppliers around Queensland.
