I’m Nick, Director of NJF Estimating. I’m a carpenter and builder by trade, specialising in detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for builders, architects, and building designers. We also assist homeowners with preliminary estimates to help establish realistic budgets for their renovation projects.
I began my carpentry apprenticeship at 16 as a school-based apprentice, working alongside my uncle. During this time, I gained hands-on experience across a wide range of projects, including renovations, extensions, new homes, and government fit-outs. Carpentry runs in my family—my grandfather, father, and uncles were all carpenters—which naturally led me into the trade. I was especially inspired by my dad, who specialised in new homes and pole homes, and was recognised with multiple awards, including Master Builder of the Year.
After completing my apprenticeship, I worked with several builders delivering custom new homes, house raises, renovations, and extensions. Over the years, I progressed through roles including lead carpenter, site foreman, and site supervisor, before transitioning into the office to focus on estimating and quoting.
It was here that I developed a genuine passion for estimating—being able to visualise and build a project both mentally and digitally before it ever reaches site. In 2019, I took the leap and founded NJF Estimating. Since then, we’ve supported a wide range of builders across Brisbane, as well as providing detailed material take-offs for timber suppliers throughout Queensland.

Aaron is an Estimator at NJF Estimating, having joined the team in August 2024. He is a qualified carpenter with over 10 years of hands-on experience working across residential building sites, giving him a strong practical understanding of construction methods and materials.

Aaron originally pursued carpentry to learn a valuable trade and develop practical skills within the building industry. Over time, he developed an interest in the estimating side of construction, seeing it as an opportunity to broaden his knowledge and gain a new perspective on how projects are planned and costed from the ground up.
At NJF Estimating, Aaron plays a key role in delivering detailed and accurate material take-offs, supporting builders and suppliers with the information they need to plan and price projects with confidence.
Outside of work, Aaron enjoys fishing, camping, and making the most of the outdoors whenever he can.

Amy is the Administration Manager and all-round support behind the scenes at NJF Estimating. She plays a key role in keeping the business running smoothly, managing everything from bookkeeping and job scheduling to providing day-to-day support across the team.
A qualified accountant, Amy brings a wealth of experience from her time working

A qualified accountant, Amy brings a wealth of experience from her time working in public practice firms, along with extensive knowledge of the building and construction industry. She has worked closely with builders as both an accountant and bookkeeper, giving her a strong understanding of the financial and operational side of construction businesses.
Amy joined NJF Estimating in October 2025, drawn to the team’s supportive, professional environment and the opportunity to be part of a business that values both quality work and a balanced approach to life. This has allowed her to continue building her career while supporting her young and growing family.
Her attention to detail, organisation, and proactive approach make her an integral part of the NJF team.
